The Backstory ... 

Bill Hullum, founder and President of Hullum, CPA, (www.hullumcpa.com) shared that two of his employees were amazing problem solvers and we decided to do a Podcast on this one topic.

#1. Communicate

Are we good communicators?   Often we think we are pretty good communicators, when in fact, we would be far better than we are.

But ... it takes a willingness and hard work to SEE how much better we really could be and then the work to improve in this area.  

Hmmm ... what if ... we were to be humble and realize that we might not be as good of a communicator as we think we are?  What would happen?

Do people ever confuse us?  Do we ever confuse ourselves?  If people don't confuse us ... if we don't confuse ourselves ...

We probably aren't really looking deep into why we / others SEE, THINK and DO the things we SEE, THINK and DO.

We probably aren't being childlike and asking the questions that could be life changing or even change the world.

What does that mean?

It seems to mean that we create our own problems based on how we think.  It seems that the only way we will solve our own problems is to learn to take Ownership, Work harder, Care more ... and that will create an AWAKENING

5 Steps To Success

We SAY we WANT something but are we willing to do the WORK and make the SACRFICES needed to GET what we SAY we WANT?

Do we / others live in a delusional world in which we think we will be given things without the WORK or SACRIFICE?

Internalization

Does it ever frustrate you when people say "I Understand" and you're pretty sure they really don't?

Do we ever say "I understand" when in fact we may be being lazy and don't really understand and live in the delusional world of our own minds?

If you think you understand this model ... well ... the creator of this model says he doesn't even understand the model so it may be good to be humble and take a bit more time and ... as Henry Ford use to say ... "Ruminate."

If you don't think you want your life to change forever ... maybe you've started to die ... rather than starting to live?

#3. Attentive Listener

Are we good listeners?  Often we think we are ... but are we really?  

Do we even listen to the words that people are saying?  And if we do hear the words, do we listen to the meaning of those words?  Do we feel the energy of the person?

What are they really saying? What are they feeling?  What do they SEE ~ HEAR and FEEL?  Do we listen to them through their own personality, not just our own?  

Do we listen to them based on their Past ~ Present and Future?  Do we listen to them based on their sub-conscious or even pre-conscious?

How Various Personalities Are Vulnerable

Analytic ~ Cube & "Out Of Order"

Venerable to being OCD, fixated on the smallest details and miss the big picture.  Can be defensive, have challenges in taking ownership and often struggles with ego & self-righteousness.

Driver ~ Pyramid & "Out Of Control"

Venerable to being perceived as being abusive, controlling and overly aggressive.  Can overreact to their perception of things being out of control and often do not realize how powerful they can come across to others.  Often these personalities are the most vulnerable but seem like they are the least vulnerable.  

Expressive ~ Wavy Line & "Boring and/or Not Fun"

Venerable to being a bit crazy, doing risky things, coming across as flippant, dismissive and cocky.  Vulnerable to making rash decisions, making mistakes due to not having all the details.

Amiable ~ Ball & "Conflict With Others"

Venerable to being taken advantage of and taking advantage of others and not realizing it.  Due to fear of conflict and make things far worse due to not addressing things quickly.  So focus on people that often tasks don't get done and/or allowing clients to take advantage of company and/or employees

What does this really mean?  We as human beings often think we're helping those around us when maybe we're hurting people and others often think we're hurting them when in fact we may be helping them?

So ... are we better problem solvers now?

Are we better at preventing problems from happening in the first place?

Hmmm ... "How do we REALLY help those around us to be better?"

HINT:   It may not be how we think it is?  Think about it!  Who is the ONE person who has made us a better person?   Might it be our spouse?   Interesting ... Right?  If we were to ask "Who irritates us the most?" ... or ... "Who has hurt us the most?"  Would we come up with the same answer?  "Our Spouse?"   

If we tend to like people who are like us and fall in love with people who are different, why is that?  

Does everything ... everyone of the 12 podcasts ... come down to the same thing?   The core of Flawless Thinking is "Curious Questions."  As we get older, why don't we learn to ask more curious questions?
