Trauma

Specific Topics

1-1: You've Heard Of High-Functioning Alcoholics ... Right?

No ... Mark is not one of those. He's likely worse. Actually, he's never had a drink of alcohol, smoked a cigarette ... or even had a drink of coffee. That's an interesting story in and of itself.

Curious?

But ... let's not get off track. So ... Mark may be the highest functioning mentally ill person in the entire world. If you don't believe us ... watch this podcast and see if you agree. If after you watch this, you don't agree ... well ... keep watching the other podcasts. We're pretty sure that you'll come to the same conclusion that Beth Smith, his therapist from Europe, came to that ... this poor guy is really messed up.

What's strange to us ... and something that the entire mental health community hasn't been able to understand about Mark ... is that ... well ... how do we say it, nicely? It's almost as if he picked up all his mental health issues from his wife of 40+ years, his seven children, and ten grandchildren ... and ... everyone else he comes into contact with.
Audio Podcast
It's strange ... it's almost as if he wants to experience every mental health issue there is and prove that the mental health issues don't need medication to fix and ... while he does have a lot of nice things to say about therapy ... and how it helped him ... he also has some really thought provoking questions that therapists have a hard time answering and most don't even want to hear the hard questions.

For years, his children have said ... "Dad, there's a fine line between genius and insanity ... and you passed that line a long time ago."
Mark believes that his children saw something that others have not and that is how he's a genius. But ... if you asked his children if that was the case ... well ... they may come up with a different answer than they might tell you. You get to decide.

1-2: Trauma ~ It's Magical & Powerful

Is Mark like most men? Mark didn't realize that his feelings mattered until he was 59 years old. Mark didn't realize that it was alright and was even encouraged by society to use trauma to get attention and to get what you want in life from others ... but ... now that he knows this ... well ... the world is going to be a far better place. :-)

Curious?

Do all women always laugh at all men when men say that women have traumatized them ... OR ... is it just the women in Mark's life?
If you listen to these podcasts, you end up laughing ... Mark, even when he's not laughing it's OK ... all the other women in his life do this as well ... and you know ... it's OK.
Yes ... women will blame Mark for laughing ... (Women aren't justifying their laughter or blaming men for their own behavior of course) ... and ... it's OK. :-)

1-3: Does Mark really have social autism?

Without question, social autism is one of the greatest disabilities a human being could have. This one may offend your mind / senses, but remember that Jim shared ... "God offends the MIND to reveal the HEART."

Curious?

If you're the type of person who thinks that the medical community must see it for it to be real ... well ... you'll struggle with Mark. If you are the type of person who wonders if the medical and mental health community may seek to find all kinds of problems that have always been present, but if they can identify them, then they can make a lot more money, you will tend to get along better with Mark.
The thing that is most frustrating to people is not that Mark seems to be able to lay things down and people pick them up, revealing their own hearts. It's not that. Yes, that irritates people for sure, but what really frustrates people is that whatever "works" for you in manipulating people around you ... likely won't work with Mark. If you don't like Mark ... it's weird, but Mark's social autism protects him by not honestly caring if you like him or not.

Curious?

Would you like to hear Mark interact with a few of his children / grandchildren?
Mark is a strange one. He wouldn't recommend that you interact with your children / grandchildren the way he does. It's like extreme sports, where they say, "Don't try this at home."
Hmmm ... but Mark is wondering if you and he could have a deep friendship, a level 4 friendship, and skip levels 1 to 3? If you would like to do this, then take 20 minutes to complete the passion circle and share it with mboersma5@gmail.com. ~ click here to discover your passion circle ~

1-4: Age 18 & 19 ... This was WAY above Mark's pay grade! Part 1

Have you ever ... had life deal you something that was WAY above your pay grade?

Curious?

If you are a man, then you may be able to remember back to when you were 18 years old and may be able to connect. What's crazy is how much Mark is still moved by this 43 years later as he shares the story when he's 61 years old.
WARNING: Best to probably not have young children in the background. There are intimate / hard topics and bursts of language and anger.

Audio Podcast
Is it true that Christian's don't like messy? Is it true that wives of husband's who sexually abuse their children often know that it's happening and won't do anything about it? Pretty crazy isn't it who this happened 43 years ago and how burned into Mark's memory it is and the power / force it has provided him over the years and even today.
Video Podcast
Mark was thinking / hoping that this would be a 2 part podcast, but it turns out it's going to be more. Mark and Rosanna's heart is that by sharing his / her story that it will stop this from ever happening to a dad / man in the family and his daughter. And for those where it has happened, for true and deep healing to occur.

1-5: Mark's heart being broken at 23 years old

This story may be hard for you to believe that something so traumatic would happen at such a young age and even more surprising that this devastating trauma didn't create a life-long issue against women or decades of therapy and tons of medication.

Curious?

For three years Mark had been seeking to be an amazing husband and help his wife ... but NO ... NO ... NO ... what he shared with his lovely wife didn't work at all and then some author comes along and wow ... she listens to this author who she had never met and didn't know her? What's up with that? He said the same thing that Mark did ... So what's up with that?
OK ... so if you're ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE who seeks to explain away Mark's trauma ... and why it's OK for a woman / wife / mother / sister to do this ... wow ... wow ... Wow, that's so cool. If you are explaining away the trauma then you're the type of woman that Mark LOVES!
Audio Podcast in Development
You believe that men and women should be treated as equals.... which Mark embraces as well .... SO ... next time you see Mark you share your trauma with him and he'll return the favor to you and he'll explain your trauma away and hopefully it will have the same effect on you as it does on Mark. I'm sure that you will become a better and stronger person and you'll never use your trauma to gain attention from people or use it to bend people to your will again. You're welcome! :-)

1-6: Triggers & Trauma

Mark is one weird dude. Just saying! We're not sure what's crazier that Mark has so many triggers & trauma ... OR ... that he's aware of them all.

Curious?

It's strange that we've never met someone who is vulnerable with people, he's transparent and shares that he has a therapist, Beth Smith who is in Europe and it's crazy how many people question if she's real. I mean ... who does that? That seems to be not a very nice thing to do ... but likely for Mark, he's got social autism which projects him from all the mean people out there, and wow ... There are a lot of mean people!
Anyway ... it's so interesting that women seem to trigger Mark a lot, but he doesn't lash out at them, he just takes it and weaves it into what some might consider a funny podcast, others might consider him to be a genius, and those who know him the best they just say "There is a fine line between genius and insanity and trust us dad, you crossed that line many years ago." Poor guy!
Audio Podcast
Anyway ... see if you can see the triggers that women use to trigger him and if you're a man see if you have the control that Mark does if you're a woman, study them as Mark often points out "Women seem to love trauma & drama & conflict as it does seem to surround many of them." Mark will say ... "Just saying."
