Why? Think about it. If God made man to be responsible, and that man sexually abuses a girl or a boy, that man lives in fear, his whole life exposed. He's weak and spineless and knows that he could be the next Duane Ehrler.

If you're the wife of an abuser and you don't stop it, you will forever have guilt which will wrack your mind, body, and soul. If you're a pastor / leader, like Pastor Dale Williams or Caleb Counterman, who protects these men, well, your legacy as a man will be forever tarnished. Even after you die, like Caleb has, your wife and children will forever be tainted by your choices. Do the right thing because it's the right thing to do ... OR ... if you won't do it out of being the right thing, then do it out of fear.

If you are an organization like the GARBC that ignores and won't even have the respect to return phone calls, out of fear ... Well ... don't blame anyone other than yourself when your entire organization gets destroyed. You like the wife who protects her husband or the pastors that you lead ... the truth will come up and your entire organization will bite the dust. As a man, as a leader, how will you explain to your wife, your sons, your daughters, your grandchildren, how you allowed fear to freeze you and have zero consideration for the abuse you allowed and covered up under your watch?

1-4-4: Part 4 ~ What men and women probably don't understand?
For a girl being abused ... initially she feels ... well she could feel a lot of things. Depending on her age / mental and emotional maturity, she could feel loved, cared for and enjoy the attention ... for a season if it's a father, a man in authority.
The damage this will do to their relationship will likely be like an amputation, where it won't ever be the same.
Yes ... one time ... that's all it takes.

That girl can learn so many things that she doesn't even know she knows.
The damage doesn't stop with the woman but what has happened to her becomes a part of her marriage ... a part of her husband ... a part of her children and even grandchildren.

That situation is not the only thing that literally rewired Mark's brain, but it is the most significant thing, and for that, Mark is grateful, as it seems that a lot of good has come from a really hard situation.
